The International Bank for Reconstruction and Development (IBRD).

Improving understanding of disaster risk in client countries. Expand the scope of technical and financial support to national governments, cities and local communities to enhance their ability to confront disasters     and, hazards, and recover from their effects. Increasing coordination, and harmony between work programs concerned with disaster risk management and adaptation to climate fluctuations and changes. The World Bank is also supporting the modernization of early warning systems in many countries. Each project aims in this regard to modernize the national hydrological and meteorological monitoring system, build institutional capacities, modernize weather forecasting and monitoring systems, and improve service delivery. This approach is more sustainable because it is based on strengthening specialized public institutions that will address the growing societal demand for a better quality of meteorological and hydrological services.visit the UNHCR-run stories (Organization) United Nations
