It is necessary to know what is climate change

  • The term climate change, or global warming, and its importance and impact on life، and the world have recently been scorned, so it is necessary، to know what climate change is.
  • Disaster risks are constantly and increasingly increasing, and with it the loss of life and property, and the increase in population, poverty, armed conflicts, terrorism and climate changes، play a major role in these disasters، and complicate matters and put more challenges، and difficulties in the face of these disasters.
  • Climate change، and the lack of water resources on Earth، constitute one of the biggest environmental challenges facing the countries of the world today, because of its negative effects on human life as a result of drought, desertification, the decline of land and agricultural areas, floods and the unsustainable use of water resources, especially in countries The developing countries, which are called the Third World, in the absence of awareness and prediction of this dangerous phenomenon in these countries.

I conducted an opinion poll and a questionnaire in this regard, which included fifty samples of people in the city of Damascus and its countryside، and from all educational classes up to the university level, In the questionnaire, two questions were asked.

The first. In your opinion, what are the most common causes of conflicts and conflicts in the world? The possibilities were: Economic reasons. Ethnic, sectarian and religious reasons. Political reasons and the hegemony of major countries.
Causes of climate change and water scarcity. Second: What is the relationship between climate change, water and the emergence of armed conflicts?
The possibilities were: There is a strong relationship between climate change, water and the emergence of armed conflict, There is a weak relationship between climate change, water and the emergence of armed conflicts, There is no relationship. I do not know . And the results of the questionnaire were as follows: Only (10%) of the people answered the first question that the most common causes of conflict and conflict in the world are related to climate change and water scarcity, and that (20%) answered the second question I don't know and (40%) of them answered that there is no relationship between climate change and the emergence of conflicts.
